Review of Tourism-Oriented Directional Signing (TODS) Program Initiated by Province

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport and the Ministry of Transportation require stakeholder input on the TODS program.

Stakeholder feedback is being sought on this program in order to improve the effectiveness of provincial highway signage programs and to gather information on way-finding in general.  The ministry is seeking feedback from ALL stakeholders, including both participants and non-participants in the TODS program.

Deadline to complete the TODS Program Review Survey is October 31, 2013.

I would like to see more wayfinding signage for our municipality on Highways 9 and 21. Currently it seems we are being prevented from siting signage on the highway to direct people to attractions and amenities. Since our attractions are in town and not on the highway, we are missing out on visitor traffic at a time that the province is encouraging municipalities to develop and to modernize their tourism capacity.

In addition I would like to see a sign on Highway 21 directing people to our municipal offices. Since we are a geographically large municipality it makes sense to help people find the municipal offices with some signage.
